Fine Hair describes the density of your hair strands.  Fine hair is thin in diameter of each individual strand because of this it is delicate and can break easily if overmanipulated. 

Medium hair is moderate diameter. Holds weight a little better than fine hair. Less prone to breakage.

Course hair is thick in diameter and can handle weight. Very strong and less prone to breakage. Can be any combination of straight/ wavy/ or curly

Straight Hair grows from the scalp straight. It has no natural wave. Oils can easily travel down the shaft. 

Wavy hair forms a loose 'S' shape creating a little more volume/texture. Oil can moderately travel down the hair shaft.

Curly hair forms ringlets/spiral shape. It creates lots of volume and texture. Oil has a harder time traveling down the hair shaft which makes it prone to dryness/frizz
